market links, critique groups, general resources, and more. Instead, I've left an
eclectic list for you to browse. These are all sites that have sparked my interest
for one reason or another. May they do the same for you.

Capitolium.org is the official website of Rome's Imperial Forums, giving lots of
information not only on the forums (one of the world's must-see places), but also
on life in ancient Rome.
The Calligraphy Centre is the place for the goods on calligraphy, including links
where you can find stellar examples of the art.
Nicole Cardiff is an artist of increasing repute in the speculative fiction world.
Carnifex Press is a small, independent publisher of speculative fiction, specializing
in shared world anthologies and chapbooks.

major genre award..." Also has a handy (and free) newsletter.
The federal government's Center for Disease Control and Disease Prevention
(CDC) has all the information you could want on these topics.
The Center's "Echo project has used the Internet to collect and present the recent
history of science, technology, and industry." Affiliated with George Mason
University.

Chaos Theory: Tales Askew is a speculative fiction e-zine also featuring
columnists. If you're looking for unusual stories, you can find them here.
Chizine (or Chiaroscuro) is a web-zine dedicated to dark fantasy.
The Christian Classics Ethereal Library has been called "probably the single
largest source of public domain religious and theological works on the Web."
The Clarion Science Fiction & Fantasy Writers' Workshop is just about as
renown as they come. Hosted by Michigan State University.
Clarion West is a spin-off of the original Clarion Science Fiction & Fantasy
Writers' Workshop. Same deal, same cache, different location. Clarion West is
held in Seattle, Washington.
When Clarion says "south," they're not kidding. Try Australia.
ClarkesworldBooks.com is another on-line source of speculative fiction books.

The official website of Colonial Williamsburg has all sorts of information about the
period.
An example of truth in advertising. Speculative fiction author and Contributing

forum.
The historic Coney Island's website. Where you can find information about,
among other things, sideshows. Even enroll in sideshow school!

Storn Cook is a fabulous creator of fantasy and adventure art.
CoolScifi.com is another community keeping tabs on science fiction.
The Corcoran Gallery of Art in DC is well worth a visit, even in the Land of Free
World-Class Museums. In the meantime, you can take at look at some of their
exhibits on-line.
CLOSED. Coyote Moon Publications puts out speculative fiction anthologies and
magazines, including ShadowSword (sword and sorcery) and In Darkness
Eternal (vampires).
Creative Guy Publishing is another speculative fiction, small press publisher.
CourtTV's Crime Library is a unbelievable resource for researching high-profile
crimes, the criminal mind, and related topics.
Critters is a long-running and reputable speculative fiction workshop that has
churned out countless authors. This is a great place for any writer to get some
feedback. Also has a superb library on writing, critiquing, publishing; market links;
professional organizations; etc. Moderated by mentor to millions, Andrew Burt.
Run by Harold Lamb fan and speculative fiction author Howard Andrew Jones.
Howard is also the Managing Editor of www.SwordandSorcery.org as well as
Flashing Swords e-zine. Lamb is one of the founding writers of short adventure
fiction, from its Golden Age.
